Welcome to Wellesley House and our website which will give you a sense of the energy and vibrancy of life here. You will see from the breadth of the site that we value a variety of activities and aim to provide an outstanding range of opportunities for all. We firmly believe that success follows naturally in pupils who are happy, well-motivated and given the encouragement to push themselves. We want Welleslians to be prepared to take a few risks along the way, knowing they will always be supported. At Wellesley, we work together to give our pupils the best possible start in life and prepare them for the next stage of their education and the world beyond. Academic success is a priority and our results are excellent (please take the time to follow links on the website to our most recent inspection report). Foremost in our thinking, however, is to ensure that the children are busy, happy and proud of their school. From this everything follows naturally. The vast majority of our pupils board so we are able to create the ideal environment to monitor their development both in and out of the classroom. This last year has seen national sporting achievement; a record number of scholarships (16) awarded to Welleslians; Common Entrance success and the progress of Welleslians to a range of top UK independent schools including Eton, Harrow, Benenden, Tonbridge and King's Canterbury; work on the British Council's Connecting Classrooms project as part of our International Schools Award; two amazing drama productions, 'The Wizard of Oz' and 'The Pirates of Penzance'; immense charity fund raising by pupils, staff and parents alike and much more. Attached below is my address to the school at Speech Day in which I summarise the many wonderful things that have taken place here during the year. We set out to recognise and nurture the individual strengths of each of our pupils. By the time they move on, Welleslians are confident, motivated and well-mannered, fully prepared to continue to thrive at their senior schools and deal with the many challenges that lie ahead. Websites can only offer a snapshot of all that happens in a school, and only hint at the character and feel of a place.
