The high quality pastoral arrangements, for both boarders and day pupils, are focused effectively on the needs of the individual. Pupils are articulate, courteous and helpful, invariably showing consideration for others. In particular, the boarding experience fosters pupils' respect for themselves and for others. Pupils' awareness of those less fortunate than themselves manifests itself in their proactive approach to charitable work."Children then progress naturally into Reception and through their primary years in The Drive and Lower Schools. In Year 7, pupils transfer to Upper School where they are presented with many further opportunities. A vibrant Sixth-Form provides a strong link between school and university.The continuity of education from nursery to university entrance all on one site gives pupils the confidence to discover and develop their natural talents resulting in high levels of achievement. Academic success in public examinations provides a springboard for further honours at a national level, such as Nuffield Bursaries, The Daily Telegraph Science Writers Awards and Gold Awards for Creativity in Science and Technology.Much recent investment in academic facilities, such as the new Science Laboratories named after a former pupil of the College who won a Nobel Prize for Chemistry, demonstrates that the College continues to look ahead. The modern facilities are consistent with the delivery of a top quality education which is matched by the energy and enthusiasm of the staff.Pupils' creativity and growth as individuals or members of a team are illustrated in the widespread participation in music and drama within school and alongside professionals at Wolverhampton's Grand Theatre. The school has provided children for all "Bill Kenwright" professional shows since 1997. Recent shows include "Dr Dolittle" with Tommy Steele, "Hello Dolly" with Anita Dobson, "Evita" and "Whistle Down the Wind". Such is the school's reputation for drama that BBC Midlands Today did a special feature on how our pupils succeed in maintaining high standards in their schoolwork in parallel with their substantial commitment to their interests outside of the classroom. The School's recent production of the musical "Brenda Bly - Teen Detective" was described by the Express and Star's critic as "slick as any professional show going". Also, the School Choirs have been invited three years running to give a concert at Disneyland in Paris and last year toured Frankfurt.
