Course Description

Acquire the knowledge and skills needed for information and change management in the healthcare sector. You?ll be able to evaluate professional practice in the context of contemporary information management and technology theory. Your study will cover evidence-based approaches and you?ll analyse problem-solving and decision-making processes. Over the first two years, you?ll study through distance learning. In the third and final year, you?ll complete your research dissertation. You must attend the initial three day induction in Sheffield and a dissertation preparation summer school later, but you can live anywhere in the world. Core modules Introduction to Health Informatics E-Health and the Web Information Systems in Health Electronic Clinical Records Information and Knowledge Management in Health Evidence-Based Practice and Health Care Information dissertation Research Methods and Dissertation Preparation. Optional modules Health Information Education and Communication Leadership, Strategy and Change in Health Care Public Health Informatics Analysis of Health Information Maximising Usefulness of Secondary Data Sources.
