Why This Course: - This programme provides the skills and knowledge to get ahead in an exciting career in Marketing Communications Management, whether or not yet have previous marketing experience - Leicester Business School is a Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM) Accredited Study Centre and successful graduates of this programme can gain maximum exemptions from CIM professional qualifications - Students who successfully complete the relevant De Montfort University Interactive Marketing module may also benefit from significant exemptions for the Certificate in Direct and Interactive Marketing Principles awarded by the Institute of Direct Marketing (IDM) Entry Requirements: Applicants will usually hold a good Honours degree (2:2 or above), or overseas equivalent in any subject. Applications from mature students with significant business experience will be considered on an individual basis. This specialist, internationally recognised course is designed to give you the edge in a career in this highly competitive part of the business world. Programme: This specialist Marketing Communications programme is designed for students with or without previous marketing experience. Those with significant marketing experience study slightly different modules in the first semester. The MSc develops in-depth knowledge of the fields of advertising and PR with an emphasis on the successful planning and management of campaigns. The programme commences with a one week induction programme focusing on business and study skills, the teaching staff and other students. The following is an indication of the modules to be studied - - Strategic and Competitive Analysis or Marketing Theory and Practice (dependent upon previous experience) - Managing Advertising and Communications - Public Relations Planning and Management - Direct and Digital Marketing - Customer Relationship Management - Marketing Research in Practice During the Final semester - June to September - students complete a dissertation or project on a topic of their choice.
